More than three weeks have passed, and the kittens are slowly developing their ‘own’ look. Now that they have teeth and can control their claws, they’ve taken another step towards independence.

As I, ‘Freaky-Me’, am always very particular about names, it took me some time to find names with symbolic significance for this litter. As this litter is very special to me as well as ‘merging’ those different lines I wanted to reflect this in the kittens’ names.

So the male kittens carry their father’s nationality in their names with “KIWI”, whilst the female kitten carries her mother’s nationality in her name with “KAAPIE”. Both words are slang terms, with “KIWI” referring to New Zealand’s national bird and its inhabitants, and “KAAPIE” being the Afrikaans term for the inhabitants of Cape Town.

As this is my F litter, I have tried to find names that suit the kittens’ characters.

Aurora Blue = Cattery name, each kitten bred in my cattery will receive this name

#1 Aurora Blue Frikkie Kiwi - FREDDY
#2 Aurora Blue Fortuna Kaapie = FORTUNA
#3 Aurora Blue Fynbos Kiwi = FINO

FREDDY - Afrikaans/Dutch for Frederik: The name dedicated to Frederick the Great & King Frederik of Denmark

FORTUNA -  The goddess of luck and fortune in Roman religion. She came to represent life's capriciousness, and was a goddess of fate.

FYNBOS - Dutch for ‘fine bush’, referring to the small, thin, needle-like leaves of many plants. Fynbos is a unique type of evergreen bush and heathland found in the Western and Eastern Cape

"The most incredible thing about miracles is that they happen." (G.K. Chesterton)

On Sunday 17th May, Wari gave birth to 3 strong and healthy kittens. I am more than proud to be able combining those two lines especially as the parents travelled so long to come over to Europe. It makes it all the more special that South Africa and New Zealand have "met" in Poland.
My “sugar” mama Wari (age 7) went for some love to the beautiful “youngster” Maui (age 3). It was a special meeting from the beginning. Maui song love songs and was such a handsome and well-behaved boy, whereas Wari took her time to assess what he had to offer and whether he was worth it.
In the end Maui convinced Wari and their love gifted us with 3 kittens. This is a special litter for me as such combinations are very rarely put together. I am grateful that Damian & Dagmara placed their trust in me allowing this mating.
